The problem

Charger to mod

It has voltage sensing circuit, this means it has a resistive load if left connected to battery and not connected to wall outlet.

The fix

Adding a relay to output that will not connect the sense circuit until the charger is powered on.

Teardown

IP44 approved, only rubber seals

Output cap found

Quick look at PCB, mod will be easy.

Soldered wires, route to relay

Relay in corner, fits nicely.

It works as expected, added to this project
